A Brief Biography.

AJ Blues has been a part of the local professional music scene since 1995. His early years being best described as a ghost in this town. His presence was there, however his name was silent. He worked in and out crews from the Township to the Coliseum meeting some of the best in the music biz. Then when ever an opportunity would come up he would play on stages in Sumter, Charlotte, Camden, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, and Winnsboro just to name a few.

The Good Ol' Blues Boys Band was formed in late 1997. Inspired by his best friend Daniel Hall (aka Danny Blues), the band toured over a period of 4 years having their final performance together at Jack's Place in Winnsboro, SC in August of 2001. Danny and AJ talked off and on for a while after that about renewing the band's ties and hitting the stage again. However a house fire ended that chance forever when it claimed the life of Dan in Dec. 2003.

It would be some time until AJ Blues would get back on the stage again. He never completely got out of the music scene tho. Various spots here and there on local radio stations, promoting benefits and various other charitable events. He used his printing business to fuel these endevors. Then in 2005 he returned to the stage as a solo artist. He then began to run into local artists that had grown in their own since he was last out in the public eye. Artists such as Danielle Howle, DB Bryant, J Edwards, and Jeff Liberty.

2008 the fire would burn hotter. AJ always helped out or did sit ins with bands. But in 2008 he actually would join up with a few bands. Kid Run Run, White Pearl, Southern Cross Band Experiment, & Eastern Promises. He discovered a young lady by the name of Maggie May and pushed her to working on stage. In Dec. of 2008 she did as she played with SCBP in 5 Points and she is still with them today. AJ has a unique way of doing things. Far from traditional business, he has been known to say that if you can't get in the front door you can always slip in the side or back. NO is not in his vocabulary. He left MSCA Inc. for those very same reasons and branched out on his own.

Despite losing his day job and not having much income, AJ went out gigging and saving up. Buying a humble PA system he pushed harder. Inspired by the days of the old Decisions Blues Jam, AJ returned to the Blues. 2009 AJ organized and played more dates than that of the previous bands he was with just the year before. Now you can find AJ still out and about and pushing new talent, doing what he does best.
